The Crossing is based on a rebuild and analyses of the Red Blue chair of Gerrit Rietveld. After building and analysing the chair I got inspired by the connections in the construction.

From there I decided to design a stool that highlights these connections, But also makes the construction stronger. I combined the connections in the Red Blue chair with the philosophy of the Arts and Crafts movement. I used an old upholstery technique to bind the elements together.
